My experience with hypnotherapy began at a personal level. While undergoing a very rigorous course of treatment for cancer I began to experience many difficult side effects. Just thinking about my next chemotherapy session or even walking into the doctor’s office began a whole series of adverse physiological responses.
Stress became my constant companion due to the many issues associated with this nearly year long process. Seriously considering the termination of my treatment I decided to seek help from an outside source. I made an appointment with a highly recommended psychiatrist expecting that he would just prescribe some drug for anxiety and possibly depression.
What he gave me not only helped to abate my pressing concerns, it also opened my world to a wealth of possibilities. He handed me the phone number of a hypnotherapist who would help me access my own abilities to control my physical and emotional response to the events surrounding my treatment.
After just three sessions with the hypnotherapist my emotional and physical reactions to the chemotherapy treatment subsided.
The self-hypnosis techniques that I learned were designed to boost my immune system, which was being severely compromised by the chemotherapy. I also began to experience a renewed sense of calm and peace of mind.
The results of the hypnotherapy were astounding to me. I have since used hypnotherapy for many issues in my life and find it to be one of the most effective methods of relief and personal growth. Through this journey I came to understand that on the other side of life’s challenges is growth. I learned that there is a powerful connection between mind, body and emotions.
I decided that I wanted to share this healing art with others who have a desire to release unhealthy habits, overcome fears and anxiety and achieve their personal and professional goals.
I began my training at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in California. I continue to advance my skills as I seek and learn innovative and tested techniques in order to become a more effective practitioner.
