Self hypnosis guide: how to succeed
The practice of hypnosis is not a new concept. In fact, hypnosis dates back over many generations. It has generally been defined as the hypnotized subject being in a “deep sleep.” However, scientists have found that a hypnotized person’s brain waves actually resemble patterns of deep relaxation. They are ina state of intense, concentrated focus with little or no regard to any external stimulation. This relaxation state allows the mind to successfully concentrate on positive suggestions made to it.
You can utilize this amazing power yourself in order to help you succeed in your efforts to stop smoking, losing weight, or to break any number of bad habits you now have. You can also use self-hypnosis to boost your self-confidence and uplift a sagging ego, and here is how you can do it:
Find a suitable location where you will not be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a comfortable couch or bed. Relax your entire body and breath in deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth. After you have relaxed, you may close your eyes it it helps your mind to concentrate better. Focus on anobject which you can see in your line of vision. Now, tell yourself, and say it out loud if you want to , what you wish to change in your life and some reinforcing reasons why. Your statements could be something like, ” I want to stop smoking cigarettes. I don’t want to smoke them. Cigarettes cost a lot of money and I can save that money by stopping smoking them. I want to have a healthy mind and body. I want to be free from the addiction of cigarettes.” Finally, tell your subconscious mind how you want to feel at the end of your self-hypnosis session. A statement or two like, “When I awaken, my body and mind will be refreshed and feel renewed. My body will feel healthy.” These statements are only examples. It would be best to put your own thoughts into your positive self-affirmation statements. One session might not bring the results that you desire. If not, then try again.
The use of positive affirmations helps to reinforce your mind on why it should do something which will be beneficial to you health or mental state. Hypnosis cannot make you quit smoking, fr example. You have to do that by yourself. But, self-hypnosis can help by giving your subconscious mind positive thoughts on the benefits of not smoking. Remember that your subconscious mind is brimming with memories of life experiences along with a wealth of information it has retained each and every day of your life. It is much more “intelligent”, if you will, than your conscious mind, and that is why your goal is to target your subconscious mind during your self-hypnosis sessions.
