But, most of them return to smoking in the absence of proper motivation and methods. There are several methods for quitting and laser treatment is one such effective method. This method is a rather new one that came to be known only in recent years. It’s working is as follows:
The laser quit smoking method works by basing itself upon an old and simple principle. We know that certain points in the body are nerve centers and they can encourage changes in the body. This method is used in many disciplines like acupuncture, reflexology, and shiatsu. Here the point is if you apply pressure to certain points in the body, you can get certain predictable results.
This is the very principle used in laser treatment to stop smoking. In this method, low intensity laser beams are applied to certain points in the body. As a result of which you will have immediate reduction in the cravings for the cigarette smoke which is the first step towards kicking the habit.

Dangers of Smoking Marijuana
August 24th, 2009 at 12:41 am
I don’t know you people.
I don’t care what you do with drugs.
Thats you’re choice.
I don’t know whether or not marijuana is addicting.
It does have side effects, but doesn’t everything?
Anyway, I just wanted to share that when I was thirteen years old I discovered my mom smoking something.
I didn’t know it was pot at the time, but I did find out later. I was around fourteen when I knew for sure it was pot. I learned what it smells like, and it put me through a lot of stress. I could smell it almost every night.
I started going through depression.
I had no one to talk to. I only had hate for my mother.
My father, and I didn’t have a good relationship.
I tried talking to my sister about it, but she told me pot was fun.
I’ve never tried it, so I wouldn’t know if its fun or not, but I basically never talked to my mom or sister about anything anymore.
They started asking me why I was giving them additude, and they told me that I was the bad child. They treated me like I didn’t belong in the family, and thats exactly how I felt.
My depression kept getting worse, and worse.
I starting cutting myself, and dieting.
I could only see myself as fat.
My friends kept telling me that I wasn’t.
My mother, and I always got into fights. Everytime I smelled the pot I became angry.
I started excersizing every day. I wore a sweater, and sweat pants outdoors when it was around 90 degrees. I started getting headaches, and pains in my stomach. It didn’t stop me though. By the time I was fifteen I had a full blow eating disorder. Everytime my mom would smoke..I would puke. She got her control from drugs, and I got mine from puking.
We were both addicted to what we were doing. We were hiding it from eachother. I had no one to turn to, and she couldn’t talk to me about anything anymore because I simply didn’t care about her. She had hurt me too many times for me to give a crap.

In 1971, Arthur P. Mullaney, of Randolph, Massachusetts, came up with a great idea. He asked his neighbors to give up cigarettes for a day and donate the money they would have spent for cigarettes to a high school scholarship fund. During the next five years the idea spread to other communities across the nation. On November 18, 1976, the California Division of the American Cancer Society persuaded nearly one million of the state’s 5 million smokers to quit for 24 hours. A year later the American Cancer Society held the first Great American Smokeout. The event became an annual tradition held on the third Thursday of November.
This year on November 19th, the Great American Smokeout will celebrate its 33rd anniversary. The event has had a profound effect on America’s health: millions stop smoking for a day, and many of these people successfully take that further and quit for good. It also has changed attitudes toward smoking and resulted in public policies that help keep young people from starting to smoke and protect nonsmokers from the hazards of second-hand smoke.
“When the event began, smoking was accepted as the cultural norm,” said Dr. Dileep G. Bal, national president of the American Cancer Society, which has continued to sponsor the event. “Now smoking is seen for what it actually is – a killer of nearly a million Americans each year.”
Stop Smoking Tips Passive Smoking
If you aren’t familiar with the term passive smoking, let’s first go over a brief definition. Passive smoking is also referred to as second hand smoking. All this means is that you are exposed, in most cases involuntarily, to the smoking of others.
Up until the early 1990’s, the effects of passive smoking were pretty much unknown. But many studies conducted since then have proven that exposure to second hand smoke, whether it’s in the workplace or the home, can also have some serious health consequences.
A study done by the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that on average, over 3000 people die on a yearly basis due to the effects of second hand smoke. Now granted, this is just an estimation but it has triggered legislation in virtually every state to reduce the amount of second hand smoke that we are now exposed to.
