Self-esteem hypnosis means using hypnosis as a method of attaining improved self-esteem. Hypnosis is often used as a method of attaining goals that the conscious mind may be resisting. It is entering a trancelike state that allows you to be open to suggestions, such as improved self-esteem.

Low self-esteem refers to a persons low opinion of themselves, and is often not based in reality. You may think you are not smart enough or attractive enough or that you are not as good as other people. You may also think other people are thinking about you in a negative way even when theyre not. Thinking in a negative way about yourself is a habit, and habits can be difficult to break. It may seem that negative tapes are playing in your head telling you that youre not good enough and no matter how hard you try, you cant seem to turn them off.

SELF HYPNOSIS

What is Hypnosis?
As you probably know, your mind has two parts – the “conscious†and the “subconsciousâ€. The conscious mind is what you use when you’re awake and aware of your surroundings. It is actually only 20% of your mind however. The subconscious stores memories, emotions, and represents over 80% of your mind’s capacity.

In between the conscious and subconscious minds is a barrier that protects one from the other. This barrier keeps just any old thing from dropping into the subconscious mind and becoming a reality. What hypnosis does is to punch a small whole in this barrier and allow suggestions to be placed directly into the subconscious.

Self-confidence is the ability to believe in oneself and one’s strengths and capabilities. It is a component of positive self-esteem, and necessary for success. Many people who develop a social phobia or fail to learn how to gain self confidence find it difficult to achieve success. The absence of self-confidence can be destructive to a person’s success. Negative self-perception can prevent one from taking control over the past and making actual progress toward controlling one’s own future.

In comparison, self-confident people believe in themselves and their abilities to accomplish their goals. They are focused on success, willing to learn from mistakes made in the past and to use those mistakes to their advantage. Such people have learned that failing does not make them failures. Rather, they simply analyze the cause of failure and avoid falling into the same traps. Self-confident people are aware of, anticipate possible obstacles to their goals, and address these obstacles with the surety that they are able to overcome these potential difficulties.

Many factors cause an individual’s lack of self-confidence. Often, people allow fear to become an obstacle, preventing them from achieving success in a certain area. At times, some individuals are hindered by real or imagined guilt over past mistakes. Sometimes, a social phobia can hamper a person’s self-confidence.
